Introduction

Welcome all!

As the Technology Specialist in an elementary school, one of my responsibilities is to teach technology to teachers. However, I have often found that, as exciting as techie stuff may be for me, teachers are often too busy to share in my enthusiasm.

Each year, I attend the Georgia Educational Technology Conference and each year I am wowed by what I learn and see. I leave re-energized about what I do for a living, but then hit a road block when I get back to school. How do I turn my teachers on to all of the cool "Web 2.0" stuff that's out there? This year, I had an epiphany: these applications are so perfect for classroom use, that exposure is all they need!
They are relevant - period!

Thus, the creation of this blog. Now, don't expect anything mind blowing here - this is not Julie to Julia! Instead, use this as an introduction, a guide, if you will, to some of the incredible things that you can use blogging for. Think science projects, newsletters, spelling words, etc. - the classroom applications are endless!

But, for me,
right now, the perfect topic to begin my blog with is to journal the long awaited transformation of my den. So, here we go...
