Day 4 (Christmas Day)

We spend most of the afternoon and evening tearing up the old carpet and carpet pad. This work is both gratifying and gross; gratifying in that a carpet, well passed it's prime, was finally being removed and gross in that the debris left behind was, well, gross! The shop vac filter valiently gave up its life as it relentlessly sucked up what looked like sand (maybe a little dramatic, but the filter did go.) My husband explained that this sandlike substance was actually the remains of the carpet glue. Ick!
